Nature-Friendly Beading Kit

This episode should probably be called…Tip Tuesday! Haha. But don’t worry, we have a lot of tutorials on queue, we just need to finalize a few details heehee.

Anyhoo, we’ve been environment advocates ever since we were younger, and we enjoy spending time with nature and appreciating its beauty through photographs, sketches and poetry. M has led environment organizations in high school, and has always been nuts for different activities involving…saving the planet wahahaha. Apart from saving the planet (there we go again, haha), we also do a lot of arts and crafts. M’s favorite is playing with beads.

Don’t you just hate it when beads accidentally get spilled or when the glass bottles suddenly drop and you have to pick up all the tiny seed beads before you can start working again? Also, another hassle is picking up the beads for threading when the container is too tight or close-fitting that you can’t get your hand inside, even with the needle? You obviously have to pour, yes? Then there goes the scatter again. A lot of containers with built in dividers are available, but sometimes, the problem is, you’d have to grab everything first before you start working, when all you need is a few colors (it’s like taking your whole, 120 shades eye shadow palette with you in your purse when going out for a party!).

Here’s a tried and tested solution that Team Fimfim has been using since forever. (drumrolls). You just grab your small plastic containers with lids, especially those which come from fast food restaurants (the ones they use for storing gravy and sauces, mashed potato, veggies, etc). Be sure they’re really clean, you don’t want your colorful creations to smell like dinner! You pour your beads onto the container, one per color, and ta-dah, a handy-dandy, hassle-free beading kit!

Easily stackable, they can minimize your working or use of storage space without sacrificing handiness. Easily visible, the transparent containers make you effortlessly identify which color, size and shape to get and combine (you can just mix and match them at once!). Easy to carry, you can simply grab the beads you need and start working anywhere, anytime! No hassle. Even more so, you’re reusing what you already have, thus, zero-waste, and zero-spending, since you don’t have to buy those expensive individual containers for every color, shape and size that you have. See? And well, don’t they just look lovely when stacked together and laid side-by-side? Decorative, somehow. Tee-hee. It’s a really simple and nifty way of handling and storing your beads and saving the planet at the same time. <3 Have fun!

Usamimi/Bunny Hair Elastic

Aren’t they the cutest things ever? Heehee. I wish I could grab them all :P What I do is I tie my hair up in a high ponytail, then add the usamimi hair elastic. I fold the other ear a little bit so it would look cuter.  See? The white one’s got cute star prints! Awwww :)
